Ethical story vol.01_FSC certified hangers

MidiUmi creates simple, casual items based on the Scandinavian lifestyle, with the theme of casual everyday wear for adults, while also paying attention to creating products that are sustainable and support a rich lifestyle. We would like to share the ethical story behind the products we are working on.

First, we'll introduce the hangers used for display in stores. All hangers in MidiUmi's new Hiroshima, Tenjin, and Urawa stores, which opened in the fall of 2022, are FSC-certified. The same hangers are also used in the three other stores that opened in April this year: Kobe, Osaka Takashimaya, and Toyosu.

The hangers are stamped with a mark that is given to products that meet certain standards. FSC certification is an international certification system that began in 1993, and the mark certifies that products have been produced appropriately with consideration for the conservation of the forest environment and a sustainable society. It considers the state of forests from a broad perspective, including protecting forests and the environment of all the people who work in those environments. Because the certification is issued by a third-party organization, it is said to be fair and reliable.

At first glance, these hangers are simple and standard, made from natural materials. While it's something you might not notice when choosing clothes, even these details are where the brand's passion lies. We'll continue to introduce their efforts to create products and spaces that are kind to both people and the environment.

On the left is a logo mark that confirms that the product comes from FSC-certified forests.

The "100%" on the right indicates that the product is made from 100% FSC-certified raw materials, using well-managed forest resources. The number on the bottom right indicates the license code for each certification holder.

We are proposing a lifestyle that is kind to both people and the environment, and are gradually doing what we can at MidiUmi.
