Philippe Weisbecker Inside Japan

This time we will introduce:

Philippe Weisbecker Inside Japan Philippe Weisbecker's view of Japan

Philip Weisbecker uses his unique sensibility to simply depict the charm of ordinary objects found in everyday scenes.

He is also an artist with deep ties to Japan, having spent four months in Kyoto as an artist-in-residence invited by the French government.

Recently, he has also worked on the design of the official poster for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The wonderful things that Philip Weisbecker found in his life in Japan,

A three-dimensional expression that utilizes the differences in the appearance of lines, colors, and art materials.

It's very simple yet profound.

Weisbecker expresses the true beauty that exists in the things that exist in our daily lives.

The aesthetic eye he has for the subjects he paints is surely possible because he can see the inner beauty of things, the "beauty of utility."

The exhibition also features production notes, materials, and favorite tools that are rarely seen anywhere else, and there is also a video showing the artist's stylish atelier in Paris.

In addition, the exhibition "Philippe Weisbecker Inside Japan" is being held.

Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum is the only museum of carpentry tools in Japan.

The museum itself is a place where you can experience the techniques of artisans firsthand, with the skills of traditional craftsmen scattered throughout. The beautiful building alone is worth a visit. Of course, the permanent exhibition is also well worth seeing!

Please enjoy the "beauty of utility" as expressed by Weisbecker.
