Cinnamon roll

The other day I had some business in Kyoto, and on the way back I was feeling a bit hungry, so I made a little detour.

This time I stopped by CAFE AALTO Kyoto store.

The location is near Sanjo Street, where many fashionable shops are located.

CAFE AALTO Kyoto is the second branch of CAFE AALTO, a beloved cafe in Helsinki, Finland, which has been loved by people for many years.

CAFE AALTO, located inside the Academia Bookstore in Helsinki, is said to be a popular place of relaxation for locals as well as visitors from all over the world.

The interior of the cafe is furnished with restored and used items unique to CAFE AALTO, such as black leather and brass-framed chairs, marble and wooden tables, all designed by Finland's leading architect, Alvar Aalto.

The tableware used is supported by Iittala, a leading Finnish tableware brand, and is mainly from the "Raami" line designed by Jasper Morrison.

I feel like I've already been to Finland.

I was given cinnamon rolls, a classic Scandinavian treat.

The size is also generous and the same as in Japan!

The cinnamon roll in front of me gives off the spicy aroma of cardamom and the gentle sweetness of cinnamon.

I resisted the urge to bite into it and ate it elegantly with a knife and fork.

The dough is soft and moist, and the sweetness is just right, so you could eat it forever.

The slightly acidic, refreshing coffee pairs perfectly with the cinnamon roll.

The Finnish home-style salmon soup also looked delicious and I was very interested, but I was full from the cinnamon roll so I decided to save it for next time.

You can feel like you're in Finland while in Kyoto.
